Filing jointly, bigger refund when I do wife's tax first

I've tried it both ways, me first and then entered wife's info with a refund of $1300. Then I started over with wife's info first (larger income amount) and then mine with a refund of nearly $4K. Why is there such a difference? I'd like to file the forms with the biggest refund but not if I'm not entitled to it. What should I do?

That should not happen.  If both returns are filed Married Filling Jointly, they should be the same.

    • If you prepared them on two different accounts, you can compare the tax returns to find the difference.
    • If you prepared on Desktop simply go to FORM and print each return.
    • If you were Online follow these steps for both returns.

    From the left sidebar

    1. Select Tax tools
    2. Hint: You may have to minimize the Federal and State selections
    3. Click Tools
    4. A Menu will pop up
    5. Select View tax summary
    6. On the left panel click Preview my 1040
