How do I amend my return to show I am the dependent of another person?

Was your original return fully processed by the IRS already? When you amend you will need to go to MY INFO and click your name and go back through the screens to the question that asked if you can be claimed as someone else's dependent. You need to say YES to that.

And....your parents do not need to wait for you to amend. They will not be able to e-file at all this year. They have to file their return by mail. Waiting for you to amend will not help them.
