You cannot change banking information while your return is in pending, nor can you change it after the return is accepted. The IRS does not allow it.

You can change your direct deposit location while you go through the filling process.

As you proceed through the interview it will have the existing bank listed, and it will give you an opportunity to change it.
You can not change the bank after you've filled your return.
If the bank does not accept the transfer, the IRS will mail a paper check to your last known address.
