Normally it can take 24-48 hours, but often much sooner, sometimes just a few hours.  Sometimes longer.

You should get 2 emails--the first one saying the return was submitted, and a second one later on saying if it was accepted or rejected.    If you used Online TurboTax, the results should also be displayed at the Tax Home of your online account.    Right now it should say "Pending."

Desktop users can check the efile status from inside the TT desktop program.

Once your return has been accepted, if you are due a Federal refund, you can monitor the refund status at the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool at the link below.   But wait at least 24 hours after acceptance before trying, or it may say "not found."

Use the Federal refund amount shown on your Form 1040, Line 35a.   If using Online TurboTax, do not use the figure shown at the Tax Home, since that is a combined figure of Federal and state.
