Refund is significantly less coming from TPG PRODUCTS | SBTPG LLC

My federal return was accepted by the IRS & projected to be $1734, however I received a deposit today for nearly half that amount $976.42.

The deposit came from TPG PRODUCTS | SBTPG LLC which is apparently partnered with TurboTax.

Please assist with this issue as the return I received is entirely inaccurate.

Is the amount sent/issued by the IRS the same as the refund amount shown on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 35a? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Have you factored in the TurboTax account fees and the TPG service charge of $39 plus any applicable sales tax?
Review your TurboTax account fees -
Sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on View Order Details

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.

Hi,

No, the amount issued by Santa Barbra Tax Group was different like $700 less.

Which seems rather absurd. Any fees assessed by TurboTax ($99) or SBTG ($39) should be significantly less.

also if I'm paying $100 to file with Turbo why would I need to pay another $40 for some bs third party bank to handle my money..

None of the tax situations on the reductions page apply to me so I'm really concerned with where my money disappeared to.

Since TurboTax is not a bank they cannot receive a tax refund. The $39 service charge from SBTPG is for receiving, processing and then depositing your federal tax refund to your direct deposit account after they have removed the TurboTax account fees you owed and their service charge.

If you are saying that the deposit you received is NOT the amount issued to you by the IRS less the TurboTax account fees and the service charge as reported on the IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Then you need to contact SBTPG using the links and phone number supplied in my prior post to find out what happened to the rest of the federal tax refund.

I'm dealing with the same issue. My deposit less fees should have been 1137. I got $65 deposited into my account. And before anybody starts spouting offset and withholding and all that crap. I've already looked through everything. There's no withholding. The IRS website shows that I should have gotten. 1305 dollars. I have to pay $167 to TurboTax including the stupid $39 charge for the bank which would have lowered it to the 1137. Other people are having to get attorneys involved. This is stupid

NO ONE on this public internet forum can help you with your situation ... if the IRS released the entire expected federal refund to the processing bank but they did not release all of the refund after the fees were paid then you have to take this up with the processing bank.

FYI ... little known facts hidden in the fine print of the contract you signed with the processing bank:

1) if you took out a refund advance with any of the processing banks/tax prep companies, that loan amount (plus any fees/interest) will be paid off to that entity on your behalf.

2) if you have outstanding loans or negative account balances on other bank accounts or Credit/Debit cards then the processing bank can and will collect to satisfy those debts as well.

Hell yeah!!! Mines too! Exactly $700 short!!! Everyone who goes thru TPG is ending up $700 short. I want Mines and I will get it!!!

I just contacted my been they said to contact tpg they have a glitch in their program.

Go to your tax return and on or around page 14 there will be a breakdown on what you will net after fees. Mine surprised me too. However, what was deposited is what it said.
