1099 nec sporadic activity?
I served on a state insurance arbitration panel around 7 times in 2023 and was sent a 1099-nec since the honorarium totaled a bit over 600 for the year. The panel doesn't meet every month and I have no expectation that I will be asked to serve. The panel is cancelled many times even when scheduled since the cases settle or they don't need any panel members. My interest is for professional development and not for self employment income. This seems to be sporadic activity in my mind. Do you agree?
