Does anyone know how to remove the Net Operating Loss Deduction from the State Tax return desktop software?

I was trying to find out what the NOL Deduction was for, but when I clicked on it and entered a trial number it locked me in and won't allow me to back out or zero out the amount now.

We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question? Which state?

It’s for Michigan. Also, I tried the suggestion of deleting the form, but then I believe I would have to pay for a new state return and lose the one that comes with the software.

To remove Michigan NOL:

  1. Open your Michigan return
  2. Click Let's go over Michigan again
  3. Continue to the screen Here's the income That Michigan Handles differently.
  4. Click Edit next to Michigan Net Operating Loss
  5. On the following screen, delete the amount.
