Employer filing corrected 1099 NEC

Hello,

We filed a 1099 NEC through TurboTax onlin and needed to make a correction, which we did but how do we re-file this corrected 1099? The help section says to mail it in but IRS says to email and it's very confusing.

You can't e-file the corrected form 1099 using TurboTax's Quick Employer forms. You will have to mail it along with a Form 1096. Check the corrected box on the top of the 1099-NEC form and use the Form 1096 you filed originally as an example of how to complete a new one for the corrected form.

Mail the corrected forms to the same place you mailed the original form, which is listed on the original form 1096. You can read more by reading section H on the General Instructions for certain information returns. Here is a link: Information on certain information returns
