Question

How do I tell TurboTax that I do not have K-1's for 2023? The business was discontinued/closed in 2022.

TurboTax seems to think because a K-1 was filed in 2022, that there should be a K-1 for 2023. There is not. The business/partnership was dissolved at the end of 2022.

Click on 'start' next to the K-1 entry and when the system asks if you received any K-1s click 'No'.

If the problem persists go into the K-1 section and delete all of the information that carried over from the prior year.

TurboTax reports that the Partnership section will not be active until 2/14/2024. I will attempt your recommendations and suggestions after the section becomes active.

If you failed to mark the k-1 last year as final, the program will believe that you are not done. If you are using:

Online: see How do I view and delete forms in TTO?
Desktop: If you are working in the cd/download TurboTax program:
1. On the top right, there is a FORMS button.
2. Click on FORMS.
3. Locate the form you want to delete.
4. Click on the form name.
5. Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button.
