1. I live in Illinois.  I have a partnership LLC with another person in the same state I reside.  The homeschooling conference we run is located in Ohio.  Anyone have an idea of which state I need to file taxes in?
2.  Is running an in person conference considered a service? or under the other category for the 1065 form

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You need to file a non-resident return for Ohio to report the income earned there, provided it is more than your exemption amount in that state. You can use this link to determine what you exemption amount is:  Need to file Ohio return?

You also need to file a resident return in Illinois and include the Ohio income. Look for a credit for taxes paid to another state on your Illinois return so you don't get double taxed. It would be best to prepare your Ohio return first in TurboTax, so you will know the amount of tax there to be credited on your Illinois return.

Running the conference would be considered a service in general, could you clarify better what you need to know regarding that?
