Question

Why does turbotax think I have "general business credits (Form 3800)? I don't have a business.

I'm trying to file ant it is saying I need to purchase TurboTax Delux because "You have general business credits (Form 3800)".

I don't own a business and a google search doesn't turn up anything about that form that is related to my situation.

Delete the Form 3800 and if there is a Schedule C delete that also

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen

Click on Tools

Click on Delete a form

Thank you. I tried deleting the form the way you said. It says it deleted it, but then it still shows the form. There are three related to 3800. I've tried deleting all three and none of them go away.

Probably your best bet is to clear the return and start over to get these forms removed and make sure when starting over you do not answer any questions concerning any type of business in the positive or Yes.

If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the program screen while working on the 2023 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over.
