8936 not bringing over to LIABILITY

I bought a new car last year

i got to the review forms part. I have an amount in 1040 line 18 but it didn’t line 9 of 8936 a.

Are you looking for a credit to go against your tax liability?

The Credit from Form 8936 goes onto Schedule 3.

All your credits from Schedule 3 goes to your 1040 line 20

Line 18 is just adding the amount from the tax tables and additional tax from Schedule 2.

Look at Schedule 3 and your 1040 line 20 for the credit

It did not include a Schedule 3 in this package.

I would like to make sure my credit is actually being used towards the car so i dont have to pay back the entire 7500 that tesla discounted.

If there is not a Schedule 3 or an amount on Line 31 (1040), the credit is not being applied to your tax return. You will want to go through the Energy-Efficient Vehicles Section again. @Swimmerbhs
