Question

I have a section in my income called "Sale of Business Property" which I can't get rid of, it's not related to anything I've done. How can I delete it?

I can click "Edit" next to it, which pops up the "Any Other Property Sales" dialog, but if I hit "None of the Above" and "Continue", the line item continues to exist. It's got 100k of income in it so I can't just leave it there. How can I remove this?

You did not report the disposal of any business/rental/farm asset?

In TurboTax Online, you may be able to:

    1. Click Tax Tools down the left side.
    2. Then click Tools.
    3. Then click Delete a form in the center of the screen.
    4. IRS Form 4797 is Sale of Business Property.

If you are not able to remove the entry through this process, you will have to identify the item being disposed of by viewing the IRS form 4797 Sale of Business Property.

Then return to the software and reverse the disposal of the business asset.
