if a 1099-div is a foreign company and has no payer FIN listed on the forms how am I responsible for that? to the point that turbo tax won't e-file my taxes?

I receive dividends from Nokia. The documents that I receive from the investment company have the Payer FIN: 00-0000000. This is rejected as being incorrect and does not allow me to file my taxes electronically. I can not "correct" what is not wrong on my tax documents. I feel this should not prohibit the filing of my taxes through this service after having to pay for the service.

Try using this FEIN 99-0999999. This seems to work for many of our tax filers. Let us know if this works and that you may successfully file your return.
