Pay car sales tax twice??

I’m looking at purchasing a car in Indiana and registering it where I live in SC. Will I have to pay sales taxes to both states? Thank you.

We answer questions about income tax and the tax software here. We do not know all of the sales tax laws that vary from state to state. Your question would be a good one to ask in SC at the dept of motor vehicles--or wherever you register cars in SC.
