    Federal>Deductions and Credits>You and Your Family>Child and Dependent Care Credit

     

    Make sure you enter your W-2 or self-employment income before you try to work on the childcare credit.

    To access the Child and Dependent Care Credit In TurboTax Online, 

     

    • Down the left side of the screen, select Federal.
    • Down the left side of the screen, select Deductions & Credits.
    • Click on the down arrow to the right of You and Your Family.
    • Click to the right of Child and Other Dependent Tax Credits.

     

    To qualify for this credit, you must:

     

    • You (and your spouse, if filing jointly) must have earned income.
    • You paid caregiving expenses so that you (and your spouse, if filing jointly) could work or look for work.
    • You paid a caregiver to care for a qualifying person.
