Why isn't Turbo Tax filling out form 8889?

I contributed to an HSA and Turbo Tax is not filling out the form - why?

    If you go through the HSA interview (Deductions & Credits->Medical->1099-SA, HSA, MSA), TurboTax will create a form 8889 for each spouse who owns an HSA. HSAs are owned by the individual, like an IRA, so a married couple could have two HSAs. Indeed, one person could own several HSAs, as happens when they change jobs and don't roll the old HSA into a new one.

     

    Once you are in the HSA interview, go all the way through the interview until you see the Summary.

     

    Do you have the CD/download version of TurboTax? Is that how you know that you don't have an 8889?
