Question

California e-file return still shows pending, could you help check if something is pending or was it rejected due to some error?

If it is "pending" it is still waiting to be accepted or rejected.  A state return cannot be accepted until the federal return has been accepted.  There is usually a lag between acceptance of the federal and state returns.

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

I checked with CA FTB online chat and they checked they havent recieved any return with my SSN. what is the delay on TT end? Could you please look into this? It will cost me penalty.

Already told you ---no.   No one in the user forum has access to your information.  We cannot check your e-file status.   Give it a day or two.  It is not one bit unusual for it to take a couple of extra days for the state to accept an e-file after the federal return has been accepted.
