I’ve read the 1040 schedule 1: Other Income doc. I know it could be a possibility of examples
such as unemployment benefits, or winnings etc. We do not have any of those things listed on the schedule. When I start from the beginning in the software to review, it only shows me our two W2’s box 1 income and $56 bucks in interest from our credit union. The math is off. There is something wrong with the TurboTax software.
I got to step 3, View Tax Summary. And it shows me a preview of the line items. So that’s cool. But the numbers are in grey and I cannot click into them to see what constitutes my Total Income line. Step 4: Preview my 1040 on the left side menu bar is not there. I only see Tax Tools, Tax and Print Center. I’m contemplating clicking Clear & Start Over at this point. I tried to downgrade to the simple free version cause I only two W2 and one INT from my credit union. But TurboTax tells me I don’t qualify because I have an ‘other tax form’. Whatever that is.
When you are on the Review Tax Summary page, you should see the preview my 1040 option on the left menu bar. If not, the only way to see Schedule 1 which would show your other income would be to pay for your program, as then you can see all of the forms and schedules.
