Question

I used the TurboTax 2020 online edition, but want the download edition for 2021. Can I still transfer 2020 online returns to an installed 2021 TurboTax?

I am not a fan of the flow of the online edition. I prefer to have it locally installed.  Finding things seems much more straight forward when having the full local install of the program

    Unfortunately, you can't transfer TurboTax Online returns into TurboTax CD/Download. TurboTax Online can't create .tt files, which is what TurboTax CD/Download uses.

     

    You can still print or download a PDF copy of your TurboTax Online return. Please see this TurboTax FAQ for instructions: In the online edition of TurboTax, how do I print a copy of my tax return?
