Yes, as a driver for a food delivery company such as Skip The Dishes, you are considered an independent contractor. This means the company doesn’t withhold taxes from your income on your behalf. When you file your taxes, you will have to pay the Federal and Provincial income tax rate based on your income. Check out this TurboTax article for more information: GST/HST Reporting Requirements For Food Delivery Services.

There are expenses that you can claim to help lower your income. For more information, please see our TurboTax article: As a food delivery driver, which expenses can I claim?

    Thank you for choosing TurboTax!
