Question

Federal Taxes --> Wages Income --> Box 14 W2 information

Hello,

While adding information in TurboTax under Federal Taxes --> Wages Income --> Box 14, my W2 has two entries RSU and WAPFL. I entered this information, but the system is prompting me for Category for each.  Please advise what should I select.  I live in WA state, but I don't think Washington Workers Compensation Fund tax is correct.

Thanks!

The amount on Form W2 Box 14 coded WAPFL is for Washington Paid Family Leave. This considered "Other deductible state or local tax."

RSU amounts reported in Box 14 of Form W-2 are informational. This represents how much income from RSU vesting is included in your income. If none of the categories apply, scroll to the bottom of the list and choose "Other–not on above list."

If you're using TurboTax Online, I would suggest that you delete your W-2, close the program, clear your Cache and Cookies, then re-enter your W-2 manually.

There's no way the Smart Check should pick up the RSU notation in Box 14, if it hasn't been entered anywhere.

@mglauner I am using the Turbo Tax downloaded software on a Windows laptop and not an online version. Tomorrow, I will delete W-2 and enter again by hand and then will update you later in the day.  Thanks!
