Living and working fully in VA for employers in other states, what are the filing requirements?

I would like to confirm the filing requirements for the following scenarios:

1) Living and working fully remote in VA for a MD based employer. I would only have to file for VA, nothing needs to be filed for MD, correct?

2) Living and working fully remote in VA for a company with corporate headquarters in Ireland. The company address on my W-2 is from PA. For this job, I was specifically hired to be a remote employee in the US; I only worked out of my home office in VA while I was employed by them.  I would only have to file for VA, correct?

Correct.  Since you live in VA and physically work only in VA, your only state income tax obligation is to VA.

@snga639050 you pay tax where you PHYSICALLY work and then where you PHYSICALLY live.  For some, they work in one state and live in another.

Where your employer is located is generally immaterial.
