TPG is holding funds, TT unable to be reached

This is kind of wild that I have to actually post a question in a community forum to get anyone to respond to me from TurboTax. My refund was issued a week ago from the IRS. I have never had any issues getting my money sent direct deposit except for this year. I am not able to reach anyone at TPG, and I’m not able to get a customer service on the phone from TurboTax either. I am ready to contact an attorney and see if maybe somebody else can get through to one of these companies that is fraudulently holding tax return funds. I am not the only one based on the comments in these threads that this has happened to.

When I go to the TPG website, they can find my account just fine and they tell me that they’ve received my funds from the IRS. But they say that they are holding my funds because they need a drivers license (which I only found out through the telephone message when I’ve tried to call) I’ve not gotten a single notification via email or phone regarding this hold. However when I go login there to that other place to provide a DL they say they can’t find my account. So nobody contacts me to tell me that they need something from me, and when I have had to spend my time investigating to figure out what the heck I need to do, I then can’t even provide the information they say that they’re requiring. Which is on the same site that tells me they’ve received my money just fine and it’s hanging out in their bank account collecting interest. What is happening here??? TT, I have been using your services for a decade and this is seriously shameful. My direct deposit information hasn’t changed in 10 years. Why is there suddenly a problem now??? And what exactly is the problem, because I don’t know. No one has told me a thing and I can’t reach anyone.

Not only can I not reach a single human being by phone, email, chat, etc., but I also can’t even send the information that they say is required. I am seriously overwhelmed and have no more time to spend on this. TPG is literally stealing from your customers, your community is in an uproar, and not a thing is being done about it. I want a resolution. What is the resolution to this??? I’m lucky that I don’t need this money immediately, but you have lots of customers that are in dire straits because of TPG. What is being done to fix these problems? And how does the taxpayer, your customer, go about figuring out what it is they actually need from us?

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group website enter in your info it will explain what they're doing with your refund how much is expected what they took etc . See if it shows anything off like missing 2000 dollars or 4000 dollars.

If you used Refund Transfer, in this public forum, we do not have access to any information regarding refund processing. It would be necessary to try contacting TPG for additional information. They are one who handles your refund if you elected to pay your fees with your refund. You can also check out this TPG Help Article to check on your refund.

I am missing over 1,000 dollars from my accepted return statement. What is going on ??? I have never had this happen to me before and I am highly frustrated by this.

This bank is holding to collect on the interest, there will be a big lawsuit.

I was shorted around $1400 on mine. This is including the TurboTax fee. I did not receive a third stimulus so this should not be and issue.

Have you checked the IRS website for the amount of the federal tax refund that was actually sent - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

I also am missing a large sum of money. I can’t contact anywhere. When are you going to give people their money? This wrong and fraud.

I got my return super late and was around 3500$ less than it was supposed to be I called every number I could find and the computer hung up on me everytime. I'd like my money back but I don't even know what to do to get it.

My refund was over $500 less than what the IRS said. Turbotax said because of hidden fees but I have used them for years and this is the first time this happened. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

I am having the same issue as are thousands of people.  I have called TurboTax who has confirmed that the money is sitting in TPG’s bank. The IRS has confirmed the money has been sent to the bank of TPG. I have called and emailed and submitted “help tickets” several times to TPG. . My refund should have been sent to my bank on February 9 as stated by the IRS. It is now March 10 I have had no communication from TPG except for them to respond one time to several submitted tickets posted saying “they have not yet received my refund from the IRS”. This is of course a blatant lie as TurboTax and verified the money is sitting in their bank.  I then reached out to the Better Business Bureau where I saw thousands of complaints exactly like these.  I filed a complaint to get the issue resolved with the Better Business Bureau and TPG has responded saying they apologize and that customer service is their number one priority and that my issue falls into one of three categories… and they go on and on basically saying it’s my fault however, in their response to BBB they are not telling me what the problem is or how it can be resolved.  Also, no one has called, mailed, or emailed or tried to reach out it to me at all from TPG to resolve any “issue” they say is happening.  This bank has an extreme amount of my money I earned and the IRS quickly refunded me, and this money sitting in their bank illegally collecting interest no doubt! . So basically the response to the Better Business Bureau they are saying that there is a problem with the refund that they’ve received, however when I login on the TPG website with  my information it says that they have not received the funds. When I try to call the customer service number, it says “press two to check the status of your refund” when I press to and enter my information it says “thank you for signing up for a cash advance  as soon as your refund is received, we will process  your cash advance“ and then it hangs up!!!!! That statement doesn’t even make  sense!  This is fraud this is beyond illegal,  I do not understand why TurboTax is using this company or allowing this to happen. I will never use TurboTax again. I have used TurboTax for over a decade as well as  I have always had my refund direct deposited, I have never ever experienced anything like this and I will never go through this again I will use different software in the future.  I’m thankful BBB is helping me get somewhere and hopefully this can get resolved through them.  I encourage anyone else having this issue to contact the Better Business Bureau and not only file a complaint to get the problem resolved, but also take time to go through the thousands of complaints that are currently happening that are Word for Word the same problem that everyone on here is having.

@heather113  The EXACT same thing is happening to me, what state are you in? I’m in Florida, and TPG says “unfunded” when I log in. The IRS says they deposited it on February 9th 2022 and even gave me an account and routing number supposedly for this bank. When I submitted a claim tpg responded and said they haven’t revived my refund and to contact the irs. I am so confused and don’t know what to do, I’ve been told by family to submit a form 3912 and send in all proof and all documents and write a letter. But would contacting BBB first be the better option?

Sorry form 3911
