TPG is holding funds, TT unable to be reached

This is kind of wild that I have to actually post a question in a community forum to get anyone to respond to me from TurboTax. My refund was issued a week ago from the IRS. I have never had any issues getting my money sent direct deposit except for this year. I am not able to reach anyone at TPG, and I’m not able to get a customer service on the phone from TurboTax either. I am ready to contact an attorney and see if maybe somebody else can get through to one of these companies that is fraudulently holding tax return funds. I am not the only one based on the comments in these threads that this has happened to. 

When I go to the TPG website, they can find my account just fine and they tell me that they’ve received my funds from the IRS. But they say that they are holding my funds because they need a drivers license (which I only found out through the telephone message when I’ve tried to call) I’ve not gotten a single notification via email or phone regarding this hold. However when I go login there to that other place to provide a DL they say they can’t find my account. So nobody contacts me to tell me that they need something from me, and when I have had to spend my time investigating to figure out what the heck I need to do, I then can’t even provide the information they say that they’re requiring. Which is on the same site that tells me they’ve received my money just fine and it’s hanging out in their bank account collecting interest. What is happening here??? TT, I have been using your services for a decade and this is seriously shameful. My direct deposit information hasn’t changed in 10 years. Why is there suddenly a problem now??? And what exactly is the problem, because I don’t know. No one has told me a thing and I can’t reach anyone. 

Not only can I not reach a single human being by phone, email, chat, etc., but I also can’t even send the information that they say is required. I am seriously overwhelmed and have no more time to spend on this. TPG is literally stealing from your customers, your community is in an uproar, and not a thing is being done about it. I want a resolution. What is the resolution to this??? I’m lucky that I don’t need this money immediately, but you have lots of customers that are in dire straits because of TPG. What is being done to fix these problems? And how does the taxpayer, your customer, go about figuring out what it is they actually need from us?

The same thing happened to me as well. My refund was over $800 short. I called TT and actually spoke to someone who had to put me on hold to talk with his specialist. I was told that it was more than likely due to the fact the IRS held some of the funds that I may have owed them and I should be receiving a letter from the IRS within the next few weeks explaining why my refund was short and what is was for. When I explained that the IRS states I should've received my full return and that when I started looking into this issue and found ALL these people posting the same issue about TPG, he even started looking it up as well and put me on hold again to talk with the "specialist ". After being on hold for 20 minutes he returned to say he hasn't heard back from them and asked if he could email me what they say. I still haven't heard anything and now can't even get ahold of anyone there.

I too have not received my full Federal refund. I received a partial amount from TPG. I received less then half of my refund. Who do I contact to find out what’s going on?

Are you serious ??? Has anyone received their check from Tpg? Everyday I call it’s a new date that my check is supposedly being sent .

Just talk to tpg over the phone they told me if any one filed before February are haveing system issues and that there trying to fix it I told them I recorded them and they said that's fine and told me it will be fixed soon. As they can fix it

If they are holding funds because of who someone owes or offsets or whatever, that is the responsibility of the IRS.  I don't see where TPG would have the authority to hold a tax return because of that.  What they're suppose to be doing is taking out the fees and sending us our money. It's obvious this bank doesn't care about customers or the financial hardship they're causing some customers.  I have filed a complaint with the attorney general's office cause I am tired and exhausted with this.  File a consumer complaint with the attorney general's office where you leave.  It's free.  Best of luck to you

i finally got to speak to someone after being on hold for an hr only for them to tell me that my refund is what the irs sent them. i have filed my taxes the same way for years with turbo tax and never had a problem until this year. my refund was almost 4000 and i only got 994 of that.  i went on the irs website i dont owe any debts of offsets, called the taxation dept and i dont owe anyone so im just confused on how money disappears like that. people look forward to this money and for turbo tax to not care is beyond me

My fed refund is also $1,500 short.  I've used TT every year since 2008.  I think this was the last time.

Does the IRS website indicate that you were sent less than what was reported on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 34? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Same thing with me I have received my full refund I have no offsets on my account can someone assist my account as well bc I got my refund on the 3 or this month and I need my money

I can't even get an account to come up? I've been using turbo tax for years and never had an issue with direct deposit! Another scam to take our money we work hard for to give to someone who isn't! Makes me so mad!

I received over 3,000 less then I was to receive and got hung up on by a Turbo Tax representative when I called to find out why I wasn't sent my proper refund amount. This is insane and cannot be an accident. You can't accidentally steal thousands of dollars from thousands of people. NEVER will I ever use Turbo again. I'm sure a lawsuit is coming

My deposit from SBTPG was $1400 short! I was supposed to recieve a total of $1600 after Turbo Tax fees. I recieved a deposit of $200. There seems to be no way to contact them or Turbo Tax to get this resolved! If I don't get an email or some other notice **bleep** fast about how to resolve this I will go scorched earth on these people! There are hundreds if not thousands of people in the same prediciment!    I noticed that this thread is 3 weeks old at the time I posted this! I guarantee that next tax season I will tell TurboTax to go F@#K themselves!

Or call 1-800-829-1954


If your refund is short $1,400 then that is because you said you did not receive the 3rd stimulus payment and the IRS has records that show you were sent the 3rd stimulus payment so they removed the $1,400 Recovery Rebate Credit that was entered on Form 1040 Line 30.


Go to this IRS website for your tax account to see if the 3rd stimulus payment is entered - https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account


If you checked your bank account in the March - May 2021 timeframe and there is not a $1,400 EIP3 payment from the IRS then go to this IRS website for how to start a trace on the payment - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/questions-and-answers-about-the-third-economic-impact-payment-topic-j-payment-issued-but-lost-stolen-destroyed-or-not-received

I’ve already emailed CNN and Fox News. And one of my local news stations about this. Hope you guys email them too to help blow this story up.
