TPG is holding funds, TT unable to be reached

This is kind of wild that I have to actually post a question in a community forum to get anyone to respond to me from TurboTax. My refund was issued a week ago from the IRS. I have never had any issues getting my money sent direct deposit except for this year. I am not able to reach anyone at TPG, and I’m not able to get a customer service on the phone from TurboTax either. I am ready to contact an attorney and see if maybe somebody else can get through to one of these companies that is fraudulently holding tax return funds. I am not the only one based on the comments in these threads that this has happened to. 

When I go to the TPG website, they can find my account just fine and they tell me that they’ve received my funds from the IRS. But they say that they are holding my funds because they need a drivers license (which I only found out through the telephone message when I’ve tried to call) I’ve not gotten a single notification via email or phone regarding this hold. However when I go login there to that other place to provide a DL they say they can’t find my account. So nobody contacts me to tell me that they need something from me, and when I have had to spend my time investigating to figure out what the heck I need to do, I then can’t even provide the information they say that they’re requiring. Which is on the same site that tells me they’ve received my money just fine and it’s hanging out in their bank account collecting interest. What is happening here??? TT, I have been using your services for a decade and this is seriously shameful. My direct deposit information hasn’t changed in 10 years. Why is there suddenly a problem now??? And what exactly is the problem, because I don’t know. No one has told me a thing and I can’t reach anyone. 

Not only can I not reach a single human being by phone, email, chat, etc., but I also can’t even send the information that they say is required. I am seriously overwhelmed and have no more time to spend on this. TPG is literally stealing from your customers, your community is in an uproar, and not a thing is being done about it. I want a resolution. What is the resolution to this??? I’m lucky that I don’t need this money immediately, but you have lots of customers that are in dire straits because of TPG. What is being done to fix these problems? And how does the taxpayer, your customer, go about figuring out what it is they actually need from us?

I think a class action suit might be brewing here. My funds were deposited by the IRS days ago but still not in my account. Credit Karma keeps saying that its the IRS fault. Obviously not, they have my correct deposit information. Something is going on here with TT and Credit Karma because when I go to Credit Karmas website there are hundreds of people with the same issue. Ive been using TT for over 10 years and this is the first time Ive had this issue. The only difference is  I bought their claims that Credit Karma would be a great account and said I would get my funds early. Well here we all are without our refunds. Ive been calling Credit Karma everday and each rep is just reading a script and even talks over me when Im telling them that the IRS states the funds should be there. I smell a scam…

I would like a response back please you guys or tpg took 2800 dollars of my tax return. You should be ashamed of yourself. That equates to robbery and I cant get anyone at tt or tpg to answer my calls.

Does the IRS website indicate that you were sent less than what was reported on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 34? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds


If your refund is short $2,800 then that is because you said you did not receive the 3rd stimulus payment and the IRS has records that show you were sent the 3rd stimulus payment so they removed the $2,800 Recovery Rebate Credit that was entered on Form 1040 Line 30.


Go to this IRS website for your tax account to see if the 3rd stimulus payment is entered - https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account
If you are Married Filing Jointly also check your spouse's tax account.


If you checked your bank account in the March - May 2021 timeframe and there is not a $2,800 EIP3 payment from the IRS then go to this IRS website for how to start a trace on the payment - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/questions-and-answers-about-the-third-economic-impact-payment-topic-j-payment-issued-but-lost-stolen-destroyed-or-not-received

When is this issue going be resolved? I will never again use tt you guys are a scam and outright robbing people. Claiming its a rebate recovery from the stimulus. The stimulus isn’t taxable income so that’s a blatant lie. I want the rest of my return

This has nothing to do with taxable income.  It has to do with the Recovery Rebate Credit.  Millions of taxpayers have sent tax returns reporting they never received the 3rd stimulus payment but the IRS has records showing that the stimulus payment was sent, so the IRS removed the Recovery Rebate Credit from the Form 1040 Line 30 thereby reducing their federal tax refunds.

So again, Does the IRS website indicate that you were sent less than what was reported on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 34? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

 

Additionally, TurboTax does not receive any kind of tax refund, federal or state.

I am having the same issue with TPG holding my refund. $153 is what TPG owes and they sent $36. I only see "canned" responses from Turbo Tax with no actual conversation as to why they chose a 3rd party to distribute funds. Direct Deposit info hasn't changed, TPG thinks it has, TPG holds funds, TPG says I don't exist, Turbo Tax says they will reach out and "resolve" the issue. Turbo Tax has not resolved the issue, I expect TPG to be sued over the thousands of comments with the same problem, I will not use Turbo Tax going forward. Canned responses don't "solve" anything if TPG can't find my information, and Turbo Tax pushes off all responsibility. What a time to steal from people and the brunt of the responsibility falls on Turbo Tax for poor decision making, it's really that simple. Turbo Tax is irrelevant to me in terms of getting taxes done going forward. An absolute disgrace!

Yes this is NOT OKAY!!! How is this being resolved? I still have not received any help in getting my full refund. I do not owe any monies to the fiscal dept.

Im having the same issue to the tune of about $1200, pretty unfortunate after being a customer for over 10 years to have to look else where next year. This is theft.

My deposit date was the 24th of Feb and still no funds 1st it was my bank  rejected my funds which I've use the same info well over 10yrs. Then its we sent your check out on the 4th of March and here it is the 28th still no check so I requested to have my refund  sent back to the irs and now they telling me I can't until at least a week to process that request. I know this is my last and final year using this company never in my years of filing have I ever dealt with anything like this. They're definitely holding  people funds.🙎

After looking through responses from both tax filers as well as Turbo Tax in this forum, it sounds like this has been an issue since the beginning of February that they have been 'working on' for well over a month.

 

Yet, here I am, $1500 short on my TPG deposit and completely unable to reach someone via TurboTaxes support line... which I've been disconnected from twice now.

I am beyond frustrated with the service or lack of service I have received from TPG. They received my refund from the IRS on 03/01/2022 but haven't deposited the funds in my bank account even though my refund status on the TPG site says 'funded'. After several calls and waiting on hold for hours only to be hung up on and after several call back requests beginning on 03/07, I finally got a call back from one of their reps on 03/21 (waited over 4 hours for the call back). Their rep claimed that my bank rejected my refund, which I think is a complete LIE because I confirmed the account information I entered on their agreement form is correct (compared it to my bank statement). Not to mention it is the same information Turbo Tax has used for the past 5 years to direct depot my refund with absolutely no problems or delays. This is the first time I've ever used TPG's service and this experience has guaranteed it will be the last time and I will tell everyone I know to avoid them like the Plague. During the call on 03/21, the rep claimed they mailed me a check on 03/11 that I'm still waiting on and to top that off, they took an additional $30.00 out of my refund with no explanation why. It pisses me off that they've had my money for almost a month and have not emailed me, sent a letter in the mail or made a call to me to say that there was an issue with my direct deposit request. This is the worst service and company I have ever encountered in my entire life. I honestly don't know how they are still in business and from reading some of the over 400 comments from other tax payers that are having a problem with getting their refund from TPG, I think we may have the makings of a class action lawsuit against this sorry excuse of a company. I will talk to one of our attorneys that I work with to see what options we have to get our money from these crooks as soon as possible. I will add to this post with what my findings.
