TPG is holding funds, TT unable to be reached

This is kind of wild that I have to actually post a question in a community forum to get anyone to respond to me from TurboTax. My refund was issued a week ago from the IRS. I have never had any issues getting my money sent direct deposit except for this year. I am not able to reach anyone at TPG, and I’m not able to get a customer service on the phone from TurboTax either. I am ready to contact an attorney and see if maybe somebody else can get through to one of these companies that is fraudulently holding tax return funds. I am not the only one based on the comments in these threads that this has happened to. 

When I go to the TPG website, they can find my account just fine and they tell me that they’ve received my funds from the IRS. But they say that they are holding my funds because they need a drivers license (which I only found out through the telephone message when I’ve tried to call) I’ve not gotten a single notification via email or phone regarding this hold. However when I go login there to that other place to provide a DL they say they can’t find my account. So nobody contacts me to tell me that they need something from me, and when I have had to spend my time investigating to figure out what the heck I need to do, I then can’t even provide the information they say that they’re requiring. Which is on the same site that tells me they’ve received my money just fine and it’s hanging out in their bank account collecting interest. What is happening here??? TT, I have been using your services for a decade and this is seriously shameful. My direct deposit information hasn’t changed in 10 years. Why is there suddenly a problem now??? And what exactly is the problem, because I don’t know. No one has told me a thing and I can’t reach anyone. 

Not only can I not reach a single human being by phone, email, chat, etc., but I also can’t even send the information that they say is required. I am seriously overwhelmed and have no more time to spend on this. TPG is literally stealing from your customers, your community is in an uproar, and not a thing is being done about it. I want a resolution. What is the resolution to this??? I’m lucky that I don’t need this money immediately, but you have lots of customers that are in dire straits because of TPG. What is being done to fix these problems? And how does the taxpayer, your customer, go about figuring out what it is they actually need from us?

My money is SUPPOSED to be here tomorrow , I’m not even waiting for the problems !!! My stepmother is an attorney she’s already on it for me . So hopefully , this won’t be happening for much longer and I’ll even make sure I get punitive and emotional damages. I need this return like yesterday . Their not playing with me guarantee. During a pandemic too and rising everything in price!!!!! Turbo Tax will be in allot of trouble!!!

Did you get yours? Mine said funded this morning and TPG supposedly sent a direct deposit to my account today. But I don't see it in my account yet. Called the bank, they don't see any deposit information yet. Reading all of these posts is making me worried 😞

No, I haven't gotten my money yet. If you're lucky enough to get someone on the phone, they're probably going to tell you the same thing they told me and several others: the bank rejected your deposit so a cashier's check was sent. My check was supposedly sent on 03/11 but I haven't received it yet. Good luck with getting any real help from TPG!

My story:

Refund was sent from the IRS (TPG Bank) to my RushCard on 3/2/22. RushCard sent it back on 3/3/22, said my name didn’t match my return. I started calling TPG Bank on 3/8/22 to find the status. Kept getting the same script from different reps every day I called. I literally called every day and was told “We send checks out in batches on Wednesday and Friday. Call back after those days.” I finally got a rep that told me my check was getting cut that night on 3/18/22. I kept calling because I wasn’t just gonna believe that. I finally got some one that gave me an email to the “supervisor” cssupportatgreendotcorpdotcom. I emailed them on 3/19/22. On 3/24/22 I received a response saying that they would issue a stop payment and that I needed to sign an indemnity bond to get a new check being that it had seemed to be lost in the mail. It had to be notarized, so I had to wait to take it to a notary. Before I got it notarized, the check arrived on 3/28/22. I deposited it to my bank on 3/29/22 and it posted today 3/30/22. 
I did email the supervisor 3 or 4 times before they sent the indemnity bond. I saw that the rep was correct, my check was cut on 3/18/22. I’m not sure what will be a sure fire way to get help or your money but try the email. I will not file with TurboTax again and I also do not recommend RushCard. They gave me a hard time as well. I hope everyone gets their money quickly. This is crazy. I have never experienced something like this.

Yeah I only received $519 of my $2100 federal return what's going on here? Are we getting scammed I never had this problem before been using TT for about 5-6 years....... Should we get a lawsuit going?

I'm going through the same thing here but [phone number removed] I called on hold 2hrs hit 1for call back and I filled complaint with BBB AND FEDERAL RESERVE CONSUMER HELP THEY ARE OVER MOST OF THE BANKS AND SEES THAT CONSUMER ARE DONE RIGHT.  MY REFUND HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED THRU IRS AND THE IRS HAS RELEASED IT NOW ITS TPG TO DO WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO DO WITH IT AND MY DIRECT DEPOSIT INFO MISSED 1DIGIT I INFORMED THEM BEFORE MY REFUND WAS DEPOSIT TO THEM THEY DON'T TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT MY ACCOUNT SAYS IT IS FLAGGED BUT IT DOESN'T SHOW A FLAG OR A REASON TO HAVE A FLAG. SI POST IF YOU FIND OUT ANYTHING OK

I looked into this issue also since our refund on our tax form shows xxxx.xx digits but the IRS dropped a digit before the decimal stating that's what our refund showed and my copy does not show that? Could also be turbo tax's software messed  us over. I also cant get a print out of my tax refund from the IRS.  I keep getting access denied.  Any idea's, Inform IG on IRS? Or class action on turbo tax or is it a government scam?

That's how I KNOW they didn't reduce my refund, TPG (and you!) did that to me!

We are experiencing this as well, TPG kept 10x more out of our refund than authorized. I suspect they are counting on people not questioning the smaller deposits. 

 

We are also planning on involving an attorney if this isn't resolved rapidly.

I'm sorry this is happening to you too. It is devastating. So far I've filed with the BBB, Consumer Financial Bureau and am waiting to hear back from my local tax advocate after filing a Form 911. Please update if you wind up going forward with a lawsuit. Class action may, unfortunately, be the way forward. Try the facebook group: 2022 Turbo Tax Fraud. Best of luck to you.

I called Turbo Tax and am currently on hold with them…there own “tax specialist” had no clue what TPG even is or what they do. No wonder this is happening. Turbotax isn’t even training employees correctly or giving them accurate information to pass along to individuals that this has been effecting. What is going on here @turbotax.????

Finally got the email from TT and it was just as unhelpful as the above post by "Employee TurboTax Specialist." Sending out a useless email with from a NOREPLY address was a nice touch, TT. So I'll post my reply here: 

Hello,
Thank you for your email but the information in it is incorrect.
 
The IRS did not decrease my refund, your third party distributor did that to the tune of $2070. I know this because I have verified it with the IRS and I did not "forget" to enter my information correctly, nor did the IRS take my money to repay offsets or debts.
 
Now, when can I expect the remainder of my refund?
Please advise.

@Jennifer1111  I’m curious….did this issue ever get resolved because I’m going through a similar situation.
